Monaco National day at EXPO 2015

In order to showcase at best each one of the 142 countries taking part to the event, EXPO 2015 organized a special day dedicated to the presentation and discovery of every national pavilion.
On occasion of the day assigned to Monaco, the 9th June, Prince Albert II, together with the Monaco ministerial delegation and numerous partners, paid an official visit to the Universal Exposition of Milan (link).

As official partner of the M.I.E. (Monaco Inter Expo) the Monaco based Eco System was proud of being present at the event.
The staff that contributed to the development and creation of the pavilion – in collaboration with the Monaco Urban Planning Office – had the chance to admire the work done, enjoy a private guided tour of the pavilion dedicated to all those that helped in its realization and appreciate the view of the Mediterranean inspired roof garden.
This new kind of garden, grown on part of the curved wooden roof, reinvents and optimizes surfaces and resources for a greener and more productive result.

The relocation of this structure to its final destination – Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) – as training premises for the local Red Cross, is inclusive of a water harvesting system, which will contribute to the functionality of the building.

Monaco and Africa joined

ES-KO is one of the founding members of CEMA (Club des Entrepreneurs Monégasques en Afrique) together with ASCOMA, Martin Maurel Sella, Mercure International and Sonema.
All five founding members have Africa in their “DNA”, with longstanding experience and operations in the African continent.

ES-KO contributes actively to this new Monaco entrepreneur’s initiative, strengthening ties with African leaders who will share their vision of tomorrow’s Africa.

CEMA celebrated its first year in May 2015 together with the expansion to a total of thirteen active members, teaming up for the common goal of the development of the region.

EXPO 2015 Opening

In 2013 the new born Eco System was entrusted with the design and construction of the Monaco Pavilion for EXPO 2015 in Milan.

The concept, based on the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, was developed by the Italian architect Enrico Pollini and covers a floor area of 500 m².
The building was completed in April 2015 and stands out thanks to its bold and innovative design that uses twenty containers completed with a wooden roof enhanced by hanging gardens adorned with Mediterranean plants.

The space has been organized in four levels with multiple entry points in order to provide different networking environments that reflect the many opportunities the Principality of Monaco offers within the Mediterranean basin and worldwide.

Eco-sustainability is a topic dear to SAS Prince Albert II and for this reason the pavilion will be dismantled at the end of the EXPO to be relocated in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) as training premises for the local Red Cross.

Enzo Zanotti (Founder) on ES-KO 60th Anniversary

“2015 marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of ES-KO”, said Enzo Zanotti, ES-KO Founder. “I am proud and honoured of the growth of the family business into a leading international Group. This would not have been possible without the continued support of the dedicated members of the ES-KO team, both current and former employees, all of them part of our history and to whom I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation”. At ES-KO, we say that “competence sets precedence” and we are happy to observe that many staff members are committed employees, some since 25 years or more, and the dedication and hard work of the team is what keeps ES-KO unique and thriving.

“The vision I had in 1955 is very much alive. The combination of our unique experience, of our reputation and passion for what we do is our branding. Our performance is our best marketing; our stakeholders are our best ambassadors.”
